Our Inaugural Stockton Conversation was presented by Sarah Bachelard at Lawson on 27 October, 2024 and we are pleased to present a 24 page book of her talk.
Each year the Blue Mountain Research and Education Trust plans to invite a prominent speaker, usually an Australian, to stimulate thought and conversation on developing an Australian spirituality in a series of talks known as the Stockton Conversations.
Sarah Bachelard was born in Canberra in 1966. She is a philosophical theologian and the founder and leader of Benedictus Contemplative Church, based in Canberra. She completed an arts degree in classics and medieval history at the Australian National University in 1989. As the first ACT student to win a Rhodes Scholarship, she took a second bachelor’s degree in theology and philosophy at Oxford University. In 2000 she completed her PhD in moral philosophy at the Australian National University.
